Happy Birthday DCB 🥳🎉🎁

Breakfast was at 8am today, late for a Monday, because they were getting ready to receive about 100 other guests for breakfast. They told us the restaurant would be closed after breakfast as the town is celebrating Stoppelmarkt. This translates to Stubble Market, something we surmised might be the end of the wheat harvest. On the way into town yesterday we noticed a large showground type set up with stalls and different types of rides. We wondered what was happening in town as when Wendy went to book a room, she got one of the last remaining in town, about 2.5 times as much for the same days next week!! Anyway, we had a good feed at breakfast and Wendy had too much on her plate so made a sambo for lunch!

After breaky we went for a slow ride about town, first to the south to recce the route out for tomorrow. Vechta is not a big town, but has all the necessary shops, most of which were closed today. The ice cream shop was still open after our afternoon wander so just had to support them.

While there has not been a lot to see or do here in Vechta, we feel we have recharged our batteries sufficiently for the ride tomorrow.

A very slow photo day today.

Bike path on the footpath, always a reddish colour to differentiate from pedestrians

These smaller towns love their flower

Bundy softies in the Rewe supermarket = roughly AUD3.15
