You’re not getting any pictures today as Blogger does not want to load any. Perhaps it’s due to the country we’re in.
There was nothing remarkable on the route today, apart from a very character building, horrible wind. We left Esztergom at 8:30am and arrived at Komárno at 2:30pm, making it another 6hr road trip, including stops for photos, visits, mornos and lunch. We rode most of the way along on the top of a levee bank, meaning we were perched up there fully exposed to the wind. On the occasions we rode on a road or path behind the bank or protected by trees the cycling was a lot easier and more pleasant. It is days like these we are very grateful we are riding e-bikes. Wendy rode in the 2nd power setting a lot today, occasionally using the 3rd level. Greg was in front so was doing a lot more work and was shifting between 2nd and 3rd a lot more. At least it wasn’t raining!
Mornos was had beside the Danube at Kravany and Dunajom. Lunch was at Patince; a small village just inland from the Danube. Greg found us a lovely spot under some trees and out of the wind. We had a little rest after consuming our sandwiches.
We were very glad to see the hotel ahead of us once we reached Komárno. Hotel Europa is also a casino, unfortunately for them they won’t be seeing us in that part of the establishment. After reaching our room, we quickly put the bike batteries on charge, then unpacked a few things. No nana nap today, we researched things to see then set out to find them and managed to see quite a few. We were also doing recon for dinner but only found lots of what we would call ‘milk bars’ that sold mainly ice cream, cold drinks, some snacks and alcohol. We didn’t find any restaurants that grabbed our attention so walked back to the hotel via Lidl.
We won’t be long out of bed tonight. Apparently the wind will be there again tomorrow - yay!
